The Mallard Cake Dash has quickly become one of the most-loved autumn races in Lincolnshire – and for good reason. Set at the beautiful Westwood Lakes, Boston, this flat, scenic event offers 5K and 10K distances on mainly traffic-free paths, making it perfect whether you’re chasing a PB, running your first ever race, or enjoying a relaxed jog (or walk!) with friends.

Under the Trident Sports Events banner, the Mallard Cake Dash has built a reputation for being exceptionally well organised, welcoming and stress-free. Runners regularly tell us they love the clearly marked course, the friendly and supportive marshals, and the calm, positive atmosphere that makes everyone feel at ease from start line to finish.

This is an event where everyone belongs. There are no cut-off times, walkers are genuinely encouraged, and all egos are left firmly at the door. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a seasoned runner, you’ll be treated like a professional and celebrated for what you achieve on the day.

And then there’s the finish line…
Every finisher receives a quality Trident medal, a slice of cake (yes, really 🍰), and a well-earned drink – a combination that has become something of a legend among past participants and a big reason so many runners come back year after year.

A proven sell-out event

The Mallard Cake Dash sold out in 2024 with 350 runners and again in 2025 with 450 runners. For 2026 we’ve increased capacity to 500 places, but based on previous years, we fully expect another sell-out. If this one’s on your radar, early entry is strongly recommended.

​

Above all, the Mallard Cake Dash is about fun, achievement and community. It’s relaxed, supportive and uplifting – but don’t be fooled, the fast, flat route means you might surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.
